Our Story
From Burlingame to San Mateo
After building Sapore in Burlingame, we wanted to bring fast but authentic Italian food to San Mateo — something people could enjoy affordably, without the full dining experience we offered there. Quick, but still authentic.
Same hand-rolled pasta, the same olive oil, the same recipes learned by hand — built here for a quicker pace. Good food that fits a lunch break, not just a long evening.
No reservations, no turned tables. Sapore Express is the quick side of the kitchen: pasta, panini and plates, ready fast and priced for an everyday meal.
It's still the same family and the same cooking. We just took out the wait and kept the taste.
